Grooming your dog is a great way to bond with him/her and also an essential way to keep your dog’s coat in a good condition.
After a grooming session at Top Dog Groomers I will be happy to help and give advice on home grooming.
It is so important to groom your dog regularly as if a dog’s coat gets tangled and matted it can cause a variety of skin and health problems.
A matted coat does not allow for air circulation which can cause hot spots, bacterial and fungal infections. Burrs, sticky buds and other foreign bodies can then become embedded in the coat and can cause great irritation and pain. Also matted coats will not dry properly and can lead to rotten fur and skin and in this case often the only humane option is to shave the coat off and start again.
Puppy sessions
If you have a puppy you are very welcome to pop in for a free first socialisation visit to let your puppy investigate the studio. I can give your puppy a quick brush and give advice on techniques on introducing grooming and technique for the specific breed.

Prices
Prices are dependent on your dogs breed, size, coat type and your own lifestyle requirements.

Large - £60 - £70

Prices are based on the dog having a regular grooming routine.

Additional charges
If it has been a while since your dog was last groomed and their coat is in poor condition, (including having matts and knots), an additional charge will be added for the extra work involved.
As part of the service I offer, I am happy to give advice and help on home grooming in between appointments to ensure your dog is kept in good condition.
Cancellation/No Show Policy
If an appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, a £10 charge will be added to that client's next groom.
Similarly, if a client does not turn up for an appointment, a £10 charge will be added to their next groom.
